The DPM Mechanical Recoil Reduction System for 1911-2011 5? Bull Barrel in the Black Oxide version operates through a multi-spring intricate rod (3 springs) that controls the pistol's functionality. The third spring, contained within the rod, manages the slide's movement to prevent it from ramming the frame.
The system includes:
- 3 different length spacers
- A spring plug
- A red pressure plate tool
- A metallic cup screw tool
- 3 different external springs
The long spacer provides a heavy buffer effect, while shorter spacers result in a lighter buffer effect. Washers only affect the buffer force (slide full open position), and the external springs only affect the slide closed position (slide on the battery).
Detailed installation instructions are included. The external springs vary in length, with the long spring being heavy and the short spring being light, allowing the shooter to fine-tune the pistol's opening and locking position (slide on the battery) according to personal standards.
