The floorplate of handgun magazines includes a carbide tip, designed to be placed on the magazine to enable it to be used as a tool for breaking glass panes. When a handgun contains a magazine with the DPM floorplate and the incorporated carbide tip, the handgun itself can also be used as a hammer-like tool for breaking glass panes without disrupting the overall function of the handgun.
