9mm Silent Captured Spring (SCS) is a drop-in recoil system engineered to enhance the performance of your AR-platform 9mm carbine. By softening felt recoil and reducing cycling noise and vibration, it transforms your rifle into a smoother, more refined firearm. When paired with the JP 9mm bolt assembly, it provides one of the most reliable 9mm operating systems available.

Short Stroke 5H5 Heavy Version delivers the same reliable buffering as other JP 9mm SCS models but with a shorter stroke and increased mass. Designed for competition shooters, it offers faster cycling with even less felt recoil, plus the added benefit of heavier buffering for superior recoil management and control.

However, note that due to its shorter travel, the short stroke SCS will not actuate the bolt catch on 9mm carbine receivers unless paired with the current version of the JP 9mm bolt assembly. However, the superior cycling and recoil control more than make up for this trade-off, particularly in competition use.
